This film, based on the novel Chanda’s Secret by Canadian Allan Stratton, is about 12 year old Chanda whose life changes dramatically, as she is now dealing with her mother’s battle with HIV, and with the fear in her community. This story of her fight to rescue the people she loves won the Prix Francois Chalais award, for Life Affirmation and Journalism, at the Cannes film festival in 2010. This is a film about family relations, friendship, AIDS, and survival.
